My Vintage Wardrobe: 3 Ways to Wear Vintage Jeans-Winter Edition

Vintage Jeans

A short time ago my good friend Trina from Retro Fashion is my Passion gifted me a pair of AMAZING vintage jeans! Omg and they fit perfectly! Thank you again T!!! I am so grateful and blessed to have such amazing friends and vintage sisters!

The first time I wore them was on Saturday's trip to the Katherine Hepburn Exhibit. I honestly am not too crazy about the cold, in particular freezing cold. Luckily it was pretty nice in the city on Saturday but I was still in heaven wearing my first pair of vintage jeans.

I got to thinking afterwards, wouldn't it be great if I knew what to wear with my vintage jeans? So I did just that. I took with me some change of tops to do a little trial run. I wasn't able to go to my last exhibit on that day but I plan to go the weekend before my birthday in January. Instead I used a photo taken from April too give you an idea of what I would have worn.
This will be the winter edition for how to dress with vintage jeans! Firstly, you can pair various colors of cardigans with your jeans. I am sure many of you have a nice collection of cardigans and they are so essential because they go with jeans, trousers, skirts, and dresses. They are a definite must have!

You can wear your cardigans with a white standard blouse or with a pattern/colored blouse to add some pizazz. You can also pair up your jeans this winter with a sweater like I did in the middle photo. This can be done with any decade-you will just have to add accessories (earrings, brooches, sweater clips, hats, etc) according to the decade as well as a hair style and you are all set to look fabulous this winter with your vintage jeans!

Another top you can wear is a vintage sweater/reproduction sweater, the kind that sits at your hip. I am thinking specifically of the one the amazing and talented Tasha wore in her recent post It's beginning to look like Christmas pullover time. Omg, I love her sweater and now it is on my "To Get" list. I do have to say the best time to look for clothes is off season. Begin searching for these fabulous vintage sweaters during the spring/summertime. I know I will!!!

What else do you pair with your vintage jeans during the wintertime?

  4. What a fun fashion post idea! I was wearing my beloved Freddies jeans just yesterday for a day of Christmas shopping, and I partnered them with a vintage appropriate mock verging on turtle neck 1/2 sleeve sweater (tucked in to my jeans), and a black velvet scarf for extra warmth (didn't have time to snap any pics though - rats! I'll just have to wear that combo again so and try and have the camera ready when I do).
